The RUPES 981.720/C 6-Inch Precision Pro Backing Plate represents the next evolution in polishing performance for RUPES random orbital polishers. Specifically engineered for the RUPES iBrid HLR21 and LHR21 Mark V, this redesigned backing plate delivers enhanced stability, durability, balance, and operator comfort for professional-level paint correction results.

Developed as part of the new Precision Pro series, the 981.720/C incorporates advanced materials and engineering refinements to optimize machine handling and polishing consistency. One of the most significant upgrades is the new polyurethane interface, which is directly heat-welded to the hook-and-loop surface. This construction improves structural integrity, durability, and long-term reliability under demanding polishing conditions.

The upgraded hook-and-loop material provides superior pad retention and a more secure grip, ensuring consistent pad performance throughout cutting, polishing, and finishing applications.

RUPES also refined the geometry and balance of the backing plate to improve machine stability and reduce operator fatigue during extended polishing sessions. The enhanced balance provides smoother operation, improved polishing precision, and greater overall control.

An integrated rubber border edge helps protect delicate painted surfaces from accidental contact while promoting a smoother glide across curves, contours, and body lines.

Each backing plate includes shroud lubricant to assist with installation and maintenance.
