The Interior Cleaner That Changed The Game

One product, with many different uses!

Would you believe it if I told you that McKee's 37 Total Interior Cleaner has only had one formula update in over 10 years?  That was the addition of the anti-bacterial component during the COVID virus in 2020.  Otherwise, we couldn't improve upon perfection.  That's why this article is aptly named "The Interior Cleaner that Change The Game"....here's why:

It seems like every day a new car care company pops up and somehow finds a way to spam my inbox with emails boasting about a new "game changing this, or game changing that."  In the internet world, we call that click bait.  Every so often I bite, and I try one of these products only to be disappointed.  It's no surprise then, that so many of these companies are here today and gone tomorrow.  Between Bob and I, we have over 50 years' combined experience in this industry, and more often than not we knock it out of the park with the first try.  That's exactly what happened with Total Interior Cleaner.

If you've read this far, thank you!  Interior cleaning is not exactly the most exciting topic, but it's one that needs to be covered nonetheless.  So, what was so great about Total Interior Cleaner when we introduced it well over 10 years ago, and what makes it still relevant today?  *Drum Roll*...........it works!  Plain and simple.  It cleans everything!  Safely, no less!

McKee's 37 Total Interior Cleaner doesn't just work well to clean this, or to clean that...it will literally clean every surface inside your vehicle including, but not limited to, leather, plastic, rubber, vinyl, carpet, upholstery, and more!  The only material I would not use it on would be clear plastic, and that's only because most automakers are switching to a new form of eco-friendly clear plastic that is easily stained and marred by anything other than air.  We've got that covered, however with our FAST Interior Detailer.

So what?  You might be thinking....what's the big deal?  The big deal is that Total Interior Cleaner saves you time, money, and aggravation.  

• Time: Keep it simple by cleaning with ONE product.  By only having ONE product to clean the inside, you don't have to waste TIME looking for multiple products.
• Money: This is an easy one....the less you have to buy, the more you'll save.  No need for a calculator!
• Aggravation: Refer to the first point.  Keep track of one product in your garage, versus 3 or 4.

Not only does Total Interior Cleaner do an outstanding job on a variety of different materials, it's a no-compromise formula as well.  Let me break it down for you:

• Leather: Total Interior Cleaner will safely clean leather without drying it out. 
• Plastic: It will clean plastic surfaces without leaving a film that needs to be rinsed off.
• Rubber: Most vehicles have some type of soft rubber dash or door trim.  Clean it with confidence that it will not cause the color to fade over time, nor will it leave it sticky.
• Vinyl: Same point as rubber, though critical if you have a classic car.  Do not use all purpose cleaners on vinyl seats and dashboard from a classic car!
• Carpet: Most products that clean leather or vinyl generally don't work too well on carpet.  That's not the case with Total Interior Cleaner.  Not only does it do an outstanding job on carpet, it doesn't leave the fibers stiff or crunchy, and it doesn't need to be rinsed.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention, and this is an important one: TOTAL INTERIOR CLEANER DOESN'T SMELL BAD!  As a matter of fact, there's no added fragrance.  As much as I advocate for detailing products that smell like pina-colada and other island drinks, not everyone wants their interior smelling like a bar on a Carnival Cruise Ship.  That's why we made Total Interior Cleaner ODORLESS.

How to Use Total Interior Cleaner:

Using Total Interior Cleaner simple!  Whether you use a brush, towel, or applicator depends on the material that you're cleaning as well as how dirty it is.  For this 2002 Acura TL Type-S that's in relatively good shape, only two items were needed.

I always like to clean the dash and door panels first, and save the seats for last.  That way, I'm not cleaning the seats and then immediately sitting on them to clean the dash.  That would be working backwards.

One of the many things I like about Total Interior Cleaner is the fact that it removes the type of greasy interior protectants often found on used cars.  To avoid overspray on unwanted surfaces, I prefer to spray the cleaner directly onto the towel.  Then, simply wipe the surface clean.  

Unlike some other high-octane cleaners, Total Interior Cleaner does not need to be rinsed off.  This advanced formulation leaves surfaces smooth and feeling new - no residue is left behind.  What is left behind, however, is an anti-bacterial coating that helps resist bacteria from adhering to the material.  That's pretty slick if you ask me!  

For extra dirty surfaces, such as the shifter, I prefer to use an Autoforge Scrub Ninja Finger Mitt.  These little guys are great.  The soft, bristle-like fabric provides excellent scrubbing ability for dirty stains.  Once again to avoid overspray, spray the product directly onto the applicator pad.

Then, simply wipe clean with a microfiber towel.  I'm a huge fan of using our Orange 365 Towels for interior cleaning because they do not bleed dye like inexpensive towels found at wholesale clubs.  The last thing you want is orange, red, or blue dye on interior surfaces!

Since the seats on this Acura aren't too dirty, I can get away with a quick spray and wipe.  If they were heavily soiled, then I would use a brush or the aforementioned Autoforge Scrub Ninja Finger Mitts.

Floor mats typically require some type of agitation with a brush.  For that, I'm using our Autoforge Heavy-Duty Carpet Brush.  Spray the cleaner on the surface, allow to dwell, and then scrub away!  

Then, simply pat the floor mat dry using a soft microfiber towel.  

Once you're finished, follow with the interior protectant of your choice.  I normally use our Graphene Interior Shield for the dash and door panels, and our Leather Conditioner for the seats.  This combination leaves your interior looking, feeling, and smelling fantastic.  But if you don't want to follow with any sort of protection, that's okay too.  At the very least I would use our FAST Interior Detailer every so often, since it contains UV protection.  I, however, absolutely love the smell of our Leather Conditioner.  It leaves a 22 year old Acura smelling like a brand new Bentley!

So, there you have it!  Total Interior Cleaner is a safe, effective, proven product that cleans virtually all interior surfaces without leaving a residue, or any unwanted fragrances.  Total Interior Changed the game over 10 years ago when it was introduced, and as far as I'm concerned, nobody has changed that game since then.
